Halloween Carnival
We all went to a Halloween carnival at a friend's church on Sunday afternoon. The kids loved riding the little train around the parking lot, so we let them play in an empty train car that wasn't attached to the train when the ride was over since they all started screaming bloody murder when the ride ended.
Then Charlotte went trick or treating in her little red wagon - seeing friends, getting candy, AND riding in her wagon - it was pure heaven for Charlotte!

New Charlotte Pics - Professional and Otherwise
Charlotte had some pictures taken professionally related to her Birthday and Baptism. Forgive the watermarks - they've put them on there expressly so people won't do things like post the pictures to their blogs I'm sure, but whatever...I'm a rebel.
Also, here are a few pictures of Charlotte from our trip to Atlanta about a month or so ago. Charlotte and I went with our friends Tim and Karen and little Tucker to the Atlanta aquarium. She was about as into the experience as a one year old can be. She mainly wanted to be out of her stroller touching the glass, but we had to keep moving along because it was so crowded that day. We'd spend a few minutes with her in absolute bliss looking at one thing, and then she threw a tantrum until we got to the next location and she could get out of the stroller again. Here are the pictures!

One Year Checkup
Sorry everyone for the delay in posting. I couldn't find the camera cord to upload my pictures to my computer!
Charlotte had her one year check up last week. She is right above the 50th percentile for weight, and right around it for height. Yay! Her weight gain has really slowed since she started running around like a mad woman!
On the not-so-great front, my poor baby had to get FIVE shots. Four regular immunizations and the flu shot. Here is how the shots went:
Shot 1 - Didn't even feel it. Kept right on smiling and playing.
Shot 2 - Definitely felt that one. Made her a little sad. Lip poked out a bit.
Shot 3 - Crying got significantly louder. Giving me looks like "why mommy, why?" and "this really hurts my feelings" and "don't you love me anymore"?
Shot 4 - Now she's just angry.
Shot 5 - Now she's seriously angry.
All in all, it was very pitiful, but I'm glad she's vaccinated, and she shouldn't have to get nearly as many shots at her next check up. Here are some pictures of the happy, before the shot doctor's visit.
Also, my mom may kill me for this one, but here is a hilarious picture of Charlotte wearing a new bra from Victoria's secret. Man, kids are really growing up fast these days!

Birthdays and Baptisms
My baby is one. How in the world did that happen? And I am so glad that I'm not in labor on this labor day!
We had a fabulous but exhausting weekend. Our families got into town on Friday. Saturday we had Charlotte's birthday party - which she unfortunately did not nap before. And Sunday was the big baptism day.
She is really such an amazing little kid - so adventurous! We went swimming today, and she just kept diving under the water after things. Didn't care that she was getting choked up at all. She was just worried her toys might get away from her. She is such a blessing!

g
Ok, so I guess a better time to start a baby related blog would have been around the time of the actual birth of the baby. For those of you who weren't informed, though...baby Charlotte was a screamer. Big time. So, I've just now caught up on sleep. Well, I may be exaggerating just slightly there, but only slightly. So my little one is turning one on Labor Day, and I win the procrastinator of the year award.
In the spirit of better late than never, I have decided to finally get this thing going. Whether or not there is a subsequent blog posting will likely depend on the ease creating this one.
Here are some pictures of sweet Charlotte - occasionally known as "Charlie" or "Charlie Ann" - from her first days and from this past month. What a change! And thankfully, there is a lot less screaming happening in our lives!
